Pat McGrath for Marc Jacobs Beauty explains the inspiration for the looks. “It was definitely, for Marc and I, an idealised interpretation of real life. There is a nod to the past and future. What’s great is taking the looks that come from the past but modernising them. Also, in a way, I would call it a modern take on street style – street style in the most maximum way. Not one person looked the same. Every single one had to be different. It’s really about the characters, everyone being different and having fun.”
Every model that walked the runway had a unique look tailored to their own personality – ranging from a smoky eye, to a bedazzled feature, to a healthy glow.
Mei Kawajiri and Jin Soon Choi for Marc Jacobs Beauty created various nail looks to complement the personality of each model. While Mei created more intricate nail art for some models, Jin Soon applied Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer in various shades to the rest, including Baby Jane (a beige) and Midnight in Paris (a deep navy), which will be brought back for sale on marcjacobsbeauty.com.
