Organic beauty costs more than what's on the label: Here's why

Visit your local Spinneys, and you'll notice something: Organic, non-GMO produce tends to cost more than its regular counterparts. This trend has carried over into the beauty world as well, with natural, synthetic-free products boasting a significantly higher price tag. This leaves a lot of people out of the loop - there's a serious need for affordable organic beauty!

Affordable organic beauty does exist, but it's often not as accessible or individualised as we'd like it to be - brands like The Body Shop and Neal's Yard Remedies come to mind, but naming more becomes harder, and that's precisely the issue. A lot of luxury skincare companies have made the switch to organic - brands like La Mer and Tatcha even using it as a selling point, but there's a big gap in the market for a wide range of mid-range organic skincare that you can be sure is truly organic and fair-trade.

Of course, you could always take a cue from beauty juggernaut Huda Kattan or actress extraordinaire Priyanka Chopra, and make your masks at home - no better way to ensure the source and quality of your ingredients (our only advice is to be careful with the turmeric. We've been turned yellow one time too many.)
