The world of nail art is an ever-changing landscape of wacky and wonderful designs. From graffiti-style spray-paint applicators (just as messy as it sounds!), to water glitter-filled extensions and 3D effects using stick-on embellishments, when it comes to nails, the only limit is your imagination. And now they've been taken one step further. Wait for it... nails are going high tech.
Designer Lucie Davis kicked off the trend when she created her award-winning ‘Oyster Card’ nails with a London underground travel card chip embedded into an acrylic tip.
Now, nail technician Holli Anna from WAH Nails London has taken the concept one step further and planted a contactless payment chip into the thumbnail of a rather splendid set of pink glittery extensions. Even better, the chip lights up as it connects with the machine, giving off a feel-good glow for extra purchase satisfaction.
Forget rummaging around in your handbag to locate your wallet, this is spending at your fingertips, literally. Suddenly our shellac seems a little less shiny…next task: convince our local salon to try out the this technical technique.
