Italian fashion house Gucci is an expert in many things (thank you for the loafers, lipsticks and tees) - but paintings? Who knew?!
Yes, the high-end brand has just opened of a dedicated Instagram account honouring the art of beauty. Let us tell you more...
@guccibeauty has been guided by creative director Alessandro Michele’s unique vision of beauty, and the account has debuted with a series of artworks that span across history, ethnicity, culture and geography.
From lifelike Egyptian portraits to Elizabethan royalty and post-impressionist paintings, each unique image has been sourced from some of the world’s most revered galleries and private collections, including the Uffizi Gallery in Florence and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Very cool.
Oh, and don’t forget to read the captions. Taking things up a notch from a simple scattering of hashtags, Gucci have enlisted art writers to recount the stories behind these impressive works.
With the promise of the platform going on to showcase new launches, backstage beauty and special collaborations with artists, we’ve already hit that follow button and recommend you do the same – something tells us this is one social media account you won’t want to miss out on.
