Hello, we’re Grazia, and we have a perfume addiction. If you’re anything like us, then you’ve probably got a section of your beauty cupboard dedicated to fragrance. Well, clear a space – your newest obsession has just launched, and it’s nothing like we’ve seen before (seriously, it’s the first in the world).
Visual perfume has been slowly picking up speed since Kilian’s perfumed lipsticks (which we told you about back in January), and now Amkiri have launched their latest creation – scented ink. No, not like the gel pens you had as a child. Amkiri’s Visual Fragrance is a fragrance-infused ink, and is the first of its kind. Founder Shoval Shavit Shapiro aimed to combine make-up, tattoos and fragrance in the hopes of turning bodies into art, and empowering individuals through a multi-sensory form of self-expression.
The Visual Fragrance, available in Ivory and Charcoal, comes with a wand (which has a wide-brush for use with stencils, or a thinner brush for those that can go freehand) and some stencils to get you started. Not the best artist? Don’t worry – the ink may be waterproof and long-lasting, but it’s easily removed with a make-up wipe if you need to fix (or re-do) your artwork.
Perhaps a visual fragrance is just what our image-driven society has been missing. After all, it is giving us another thing to post about on the ‘gram. The question is – will Amkiri’s creation make it to the mainstream, and if so, will other brands follow suit?
