The first Crayola crayon was introduced in 1903, so you could say the brand's foray into make-up (the only logical step, surely) is marginally overdue. It was certainly worth the wait, though, considering the offering it has just launched is not only pretty meaty (58 pieces in 95 shades), but is also vegan and cruelty-free. Crayola Beauty: not just a pretty face, are you?
Aimed squarely at nostalgia-loving millennials who'll no doubt lap up the O.G. packaging with a certain misty-eyed glee, the brand has produced a smart selection of pieces for a beauty-savvy generation who demand more than just gimmicks from their bathroom shelf. No doubt taking inspo from its collaboration with Clinique last year, Crayola's hero piece is a face crayon that can be used across eyes, cheeks and lips. Thinking outside the box, if you'll pardon the pun.
Comprising crayon trios, highlighters, mascaras and customisable lip and eye palettes all coming (naturally) in a rainbow of shades and some in that iconic yellow and green box (we won't lie, the sight of one still gives us a little thrill), the collection has hit from every angle and is the definition of creative beauty. It's playtime.
