Why beauty is about to go pop in the Middle East
Camila Coelho will be showing Dubai how it's done

Make-up maestros, rejoice! Beauty Pop is making its much-awaited debut at Dubai Design District on the 19th of April, and it's all we can do to hold it together. Featuring masterclasses from some of the most talented regional and international beauty gurus, there will also be panel discussions, interactive exhibitions and meet and greets with celebs whose tutorials you’ve been recreating (badly) for years. There are even entertainment and dining outlets for you to leave a complaining companion when they don’t want to hold your shopping basket any more and have no more space for swatches. We know. Rude.

Kicking off the weekend is spokesperson for Clarins Middle East and the first make-up artist to launch an advertising campaign in the region, Bassam Fattouh. He will host a make-up masterclass on the 19th, followed by Jennifer Lopez’s personal make-up artist Mary Phillips on the 20th. Masterclasses are priced individually at Dhs1,260 for a regular ticket.

“The most influential hairstylist in the world” and honorary member of the Kardashian Krew, Jen Atkin is the celebrity stylist that’s become a household name, with her haircare brand OUAI promising to keep you looking chic, no matter how many followers you have – though this comes from the woman with 2.3 million. Jen will be hosting a masterclass alongside Maneaddicts.com creative consultant and TRESemmé brand ambassador, Justine Marjan on the 21st.

Throughout the weekend, beauty influencers and YouTube sensations Desi Perkins, Camila Coelho and Marianna Hewitt will be taking part in scheduled panel discussions, covering topics such as how beauty has influenced social media and tips and tricks for how to become a YouTube beauty blogger – though if it involves doing our make-up in something other than just our dressing gown, we may have to leave that one to the pros.

They’ll be joined by hair experts Jen Atkin and Justine Marjan, as well as renowned colourist and Redken ambassador Tracey Cunningham in a talk that’s sure to have us wishing we had this opportunity through the dark days of the university DIY dye jobs. If the mere thought of applying your new make-up skills has your skin crying out for mercy, celebrity skincare expert, Crystal Karo and owner of Abu Dhabi’s Beauty Park Medical Spa, Nurse Jamie will be there to teach you everything you need to make sure your skin doesn’t suffer.

And if you want to nab yourself a goodie bag (did we really just say "if"?), and sneak in a selfie, the VIP package for Dhs4,515 lets you meet each celebrity and get some free beauty bits. Otherwise, the Regular combo package gives you access to all three days, both the make-up and hair masterclasses as well as the panel talks throughout the weekend for Dhs2,415. General admission starts from Dhs157.50 per day.

You can WIN a VIP pass - including a meet and greet and a goodie bag - for Saturday 21st April, when Jen Atkin will be doing her masterclass at midday, and there will be panel discussions with Marianna Hewitt, Desi Perkins and Camila Coelho. All you have to do is head to our Facebook page. Good luck!
