Any beauty insider will tell you – vitamin C products are just difficult to keep. If not stored properly they quickly turn into a sludgy brown colour, rendering them completely ineffective. And smelly. Yuck. This happens because most of the topical vitamin C serums available on the market contain unstable ingredients and, let's be honest, at high price points, that doesn’t quite fit into the cost-per-wear formula we like to stick to.
So you can understand how psyched we were to find out about Dermalogica’s new Biolumin-C Serum. In addition to containing one of the most stable forms of vitamin C, the antioxidant-rich product is packed with Sophora Japonica flower extract, lactic acid and chia seed oil – powerful add-ons that work to firm skin and protect against free-radical damage.
After toning, smooth the moisturising formula over a freshly washed face to help even skin tone and improve the appearance of those pesky fine lines and wrinkles that we all seem to suffer from. Sigh.
But why vitamin C you ask? Essentially the hero ingredient is like a first responder - enhancing the skin’s own defence system from within. Definitely worth the investment.
