Following on from Nike’s successful launch of its size inclusive range, Adidas is getting in on the act with its new plus-size range.

Teaming up with plus-size pioneers Universal Standard, the brand’s first foray into expanding its sizing range includes all the things you would expect from the activewear giant – leggings, vests, zippy tops – in four colourways, and every item is available up to size 4XL.

Previously the largest size available was 2XL.

Speaking about the launch and partnership with Adidas on its Instagram account, Universal Standard wrote: “We said that we’d start a revolution with partners who were ready to shape the future with US. Welcome to the revolution.

“This collection isn’t about asking women to change, it’s about meeting them where they are, just as they are. It’s about movement - the beauty of movement through dance, the strength of community through double dutch, the belief in potential through basketball, and the power of a woman’s body in phases of transition. It’s for the athlete, the team, the mom, the anyone and everyone. It’s for all of US. As we are."

While the collection feels long overdue, it’s currently only available online and in stores in the US, so here’s hoping it makes its way to Adidas outlets in the region soon.
