Alexander McQueen is calling all fans and followers to turn to social media, capture and share photographs on your perception of nature as a symbol of hope and quiet power amid the global COVID-19 pandemic. The novel coronavirus has now infected over 3.9 million people worldwide and has drastically changed the lives and livelihood of communities across the globe.
“I’ve always been inspired by nature – it’s a thread which runs through everything we create at McQueen. The most important thing now is for us to reconnect with nature. These pictures are a reflection of that thought,” observes Sarah Burton, Creative Director at Alexander McQueen.
This is the opportune moment for all individuals to virtually plant that seed of positivity by exposing nature archives to galvanise and motivate the world through art and creativity.
To participate in this social initiative, running until 12 May 2020, all you need to do is upload a photograph of nature on your Instagram account with the tag @AlexanderMcQueen and hashtag #McQueenCreators and #McQueenNature. You will then stand a chance to be featured in the McQueen Nature series on the Alexander McQueen channel in hopes to inspire its 9.7 million Instagram followers during this unpredictable and challenging time.
Until then, stay safe, wash your hands and download the digital issue of Grazia for free here.
