When Anine Bing joined forces with photographer Terry O’Neill to design a micro-collection of items honouring his work, she had no idea the 81-year-old photographer would lose his battle to cancer before its launch.
And taking to Instagram, the Scandi influencer-turned-designer shared that although the launch was “bittersweet” and she was “heartbroken” at Terry’s passing, as his work had always been a source of inspiration to her, she couldn’t think of a better wat to honour his memory.
“I am beyond grateful to have met and worked with such an icon,” she shared.
And in a post featuring Bardot, she captioned it with, “Thank you for being the greatest inspiration to me and for letting us use your art in this very special collaboration.”
Featuring a sweatshirt, T-shirt dress and T-shirt, each item in the three-piece collection depicts one of the late photographer’s iconic images of French actress Brigitte Bardot, which also hangs in many Anine Bing stores.
So to further honour his legacy, the Danish designer will be donating a portion of the proceeds from each sale to The Bobby Moore Fund via Cancer UK, an organization chosen by Terry and his team.
“This collaboration is nothing short of a dream come true and wouldn’t have been possible without Terry,” she added.
