It’s not often that the fashion powers that be bless us with a cost-free editorial-grade styling tip that breathes new life into old outfits. Befitting then that this month, fashion’s latest styling tip fresh off the runway, has gone completely viral and divided the internet.
Introducing: the ankle-tie trouser trend. Seen on New York Fashion Week runways and Instagram influencers alike, stylists have taken to revamping the classic jeans and strappy heels combo. Heel straps that were once tied around ankles are now laced-up firmly around the bottom of every trouser.
The streetstyle trend could be attributed to being the aftermath of fashion week. Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2020 runway featured knife-sharp tailored trousers supported in all their voluminous glory by snake-like textured sandal straps, while Charlotte Knowles’ SS20 elongated printed trouser leg was held down by shining ankle ties in mirrored prints.
Having infiltrated the finest in fashion, the serpentine strap was also spotted on Kylie Jenner as she headed out for a casual dinner, which admittedly has us sold on the whole trend.
