There’s nothing worse than (im)patiently awaiting the arrival of your purchase only to discover that it doesn’t fit right, or highlights places you’d rather it didn’t. Unfortunately, not being able to try on a garment is the price we pay for shopping at home in our PJ’s.

ASOS is here to change that. The e-commerce platform already caters to various sizes, but it’s taken things one step further by allowing you the ability to see what it would look like on someone with your body type.

The See My Fit augmented reality tool digitally maps the garment – a LBD, for example – onto sixteen people of different heights and sizes, from UK4 to UK18. The intelligent technology also takes the cut and fit of the item into account to make sure what you’re seeing is as accurate as possible.

At the moment the feature is just being trialled on 800 dresses and 16 models, however if it’s successful, ASOS will increase the number of models and use the technology for all the pieces on their website. Let’s give ASOS a round of applause.

Try See My Fit here.
