Backstage with Basil AlHadi: What Karrouhat told Grazia about his Paris Fashion Week catwalk debut

Local hero and Arabic reggae star Karrouhat aka Basil AlHadi has kicked Gigi Hadid from the number one spot at Men's Paris Fashion Week as he made his runway debut for Casablanca.

He was approached by the French-Moroccan brand - founded by Charaf Tajer, a cohort of Virgil Abloh -  because the team loved his look, and the fitting took place in Paris the day before the show. "I felt very me and comfortable honestly and the brand told me, 'Please be you, and don’t act like a model,'" Basil told Grazia. What went through his mind as he made his runway debut? "I was just thinking about what this means to everyone I know! We are in Paris now! I felt proud!"

Not content with dominating the runway, Karrouhat also got fashionistas on their feet by DJing at the Casablanca after party. And judging by the international reaction to his catwalk debut, it won't be his last.
