Celine Dion has given the classic music video a millennial makeover

From selfies to #ootd posts, Instagram has revolutionized the way we consume – and generate – information.  

And while in the early days it was purely a platform for sharing photos with friends and followers, 10 years on, it has become one of the most powerful marketing tools for brands, not to mention marketplaces for consumers.

To highlight this and all of Instagram's snazzy new shopping features, the social media tool has teamed up with Celine Dion to remake a classic ‘90s music video, but with all the products and clothing tagged, just like they would be on the app. #influenced. 

And while the video has been designed to promote Instagram’s shopping feature, it also makes the case for resurrecting big budget music videos.

Taking to Instagram to release the video, Celine shared: “Honey, over the top music videos never went out of style. Had so much fun working with my friends at @Instagram to bring ‘90s style back for the holidays.”

And whatever your thoughts about social media, you can't help but agree with the singer. Power ballads at the ready.
