Marc Jacobs is undeniably one of the most revered and respected names in fashion. From the iconic 1993 Perry Ellis collection that got him fired but sparked a global grunge trend, to the mind-blowing spectacles created during his tenure as Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton, Marc has made fashion history on countless occasions. And now he's at it again.
This week it was announced that designer will be the first ever recipient of MTV’s Fashion Vanguard Award at the upcoming Video Music Awards.
Unsurprisingly, he's pretty pleased about it. Marc has long been connected with music and a huge fan of the channel explaining that the channel "MTV really spoke to me and I think that generation of people at that time. So, I’ve maintained them in my memory bank and they’d never gone away. They’re iconic.”
