Could Iris Law be the face of a new fashion generation?

What does it take to be an It-girl today? Checklist as follows: effortlessly good looks (think Gigi Hadid’s I-woke-up-like-this tousled locks and Ajok Madel’s naturally radiant skin); an Instagram account that lets followers in while remaining just the right amount of ‘untouchable’; celebrity parents (who isn’t equally invested in each and every one of the Gerber household?); and most importantly, a big-brand endorsement. Meet Iris Law, the latest fashion girl who ticks all four boxes with aplomb.

Iris’ oversized sea-blue eyes stand out against dark brown hair, while her voluptuous lips and pixie-esque nose accent her iridescent skin beautifully. Of course, we’d expect little less from a 19-year-old whose parents just so happen to be British actors Sadie Frost and Jude Law (the pair rose to fame in the ’90s through blockbusters such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula and The Talented Mr. Ripley, respectively).

Iris has already worked with the likes of Burberry and Chanel, but this season she gets the stamp of approval from fashion favourite Fendi, starring in its campaign celebrating the new Peekaboo bag.

“I think that the Peekaboo bag is for someone who loves having a personal and versatile sense of style,” reveals Iris while sporting a cream version made with woven strips of beige lamb leather and calfskin. “It’s useful to have a bag which can be worn according to the various vibes of the outfits I wear day to day,” she says.

In some shots, Iris showcases Fendi’s statement athleisure style in a long-line army-brown jacket and a light khaki knit, while in others she leans on today’s geek-chic movement in a miniature check and sequin jumper teamed with long socks and oversized F earrings. The eclectic choices mirror her own individual style. “Some days I want to dress androgynous, and the Peekaboo bag could easily go with a suit and boots, while with a dress, it also goes perfectly,” the model declares.

IRL, Iris’ at times obscure Instagram feed is less Primrose Hill (the high-end London suburb in which she was born) and more a rock n’ roll-fuelled vision aligning with the expected life of celebrity offspring. She can be seen kicking back in frothy floral dresses and catching rays in Ibiza, hanging out in Surrealist-style outfits with fellow models, and wearing head-to-toe Chanel at luxurious London hotels.

Iris is yet to develop a signature beauty look, and instead appears impeccable, whether fresh out of the water with zero make-up, sitting front row with nothing more than a heady swipe of bold red gloss across her naturally shapely lips, or all done up with sleek, glossy hair and full-throttle make-up. For Fendi, Iris opts for earth-tone lips, burnt orange smokey eyes and purposefully unkempt brows. Her hair is pulled back, further accentuating her mesmerising features.

“Glamorous and quintessentially Italian,” states Iris when Grazia asks for her thoughts on the fashion brand, while “wearable, chic and timeless” is her impression of the new Peekaboo. Three more than accurate words for an accessory large enough to carry the load of a busy lifestyle, is stylish enough to team with either business attire or casualwear (especially when the interchangeable strap comes into play), and is robust enough to remain relevant for at least a decade.

The question is, will Iris follow in the footsteps of fellow new-gen models such as Kaia Gerber by walking the runway for Fendi next season (the Brit has so far chosen the frow over the catwalk)? Or will she choose the same red-carpet path as her parents? Both, perhaps.
