Haute Couture history is about to happen: on 18 March 2019, Maria Grazia Chiuri is bringing Dior's SS19 Haute Couture show to our doorstep.
Dior's Haute Couture show took place in a vast marquee in the gardens of the Rodin Museum on 21 January where female acrobats of all shapes and sizes created human bridges under which the models walked. According to Grazia UK's Fashion Director Rebecca Lowthorpe, "The metaphor – women supporting women, from the first female Creative Director of the house, who has threaded feminism through every collection since her debut ‘We Should All Be Feminists’ T-shirts – was lost on nobody."
This promises to be the biggest fashstravaganza Dubai's seen since Karl Lagerfeld dedicated a Chanel Cruise collection to Dubai in May 2014. Grazia Middle East Editor in Chief Alison Tay declares, "This is a major fashion moment for Dubai, showing the region's rightfully being recognised as a major player on the global stage."
Maria Grazia Chiuri will be in attendance and has promised us exclusive couture looks for Dubai. Stay tuned for reports from the FROW!
