Morocco is the place where I was born and raised and it symbolises my roots. The bold prints and bright colours inspire me so much and you can see their influence throughout my collections.
Where to stay: I like the Mamounia for its authentic yet refined ambience and delicious food, or Royal Mansour as The Spa there is simply exceptional.
Where to eat: I recently discovered the restaurant in the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and I loved it. For a more rustic experience, I like the small restaurants in the garden of La Medina.
Where to explore: I shop in the Medina especially for its traditional fabrics, and I love escaping to the Ourika Valley which is 40km away from Marrakech.
Paris, in all its diversity, will always be a source of inspiration for Maje and its spirit will always run through our collections.
Where to eat: You’ll find me at Takara, the oldest Japanese restaurant in Paris, for authentic Japanese food, Cebus, the tiniest eatery in Paris, for Italian pasta, and Caviar Kaspia for a fun night out.
Where to explore: Every morning, I have a double espresso at Le Moulin de la Vierge, a café with a vintage vibe near our HQ, and if I have a late meeting, I like the ambience of Hôtel Costes. At the weekend, I love going to exhibitions at Galerie Perrotin or looking for vintage furniture at les Puces de Saint Ouen. For my eyebrows, I go to a beauty studio that’s close to my apartment called Un Jour, Un Regard.
London, for me, has certain sense of freedom mixed with heritage.
Where to stay: I love to stay at Chiltern Firehouse. I enjoy walking around Marylebone as it’s a very picturesque part of London.
Where to eat: Try Padella in London Bridge for simple, freshly made pasta, Farmacy in Notting Hill for its huge menu of delicious vegan and vegetarian dishes, and my favourite place for Japanese food is Umu which is hidden away on a pretty cobbled street in central London.
Where to explore: The spa at the Corinthia hotel is one of my favourite places to relax. I always make time to see what is showing at Sadie Coles HQ and White Cube while I’m in London.
