Tie dye may not have entirely rid itself of all gnarly Bill & Ted connotations as yet, but that's exactly why we've fallen for its unpolished, optimistic charms all over again a mere 20 years later. Among other misty-eyed nostalgics such as Prada, R13 and Ashley Williams, it was (rather surprisingly) Ralph Lauren who created a slew of happy hippy-print pieces for Spring that have captured the collective Insta-imagination. And sure, its psychedelic fashion pedigree actually dates back to '60s bohemia (legend tells us Janis Joplin slept on tie-dyed satin sheets), but its the '90s redux we're happy to see here; less Woodstock whimsical, more surf's up. You can keep your sweaty jelly sandals and cargo pants - give us a teenage throwback that reminds us of borrowing our boyfriend's jumper to go rent a video from Blockbuster and we're yours 4EVA.
