CEO of luxury fashion brand Gucci, Marco Bizzarri, has challenged other executives to join his new environmental initiative.
In a series of statements posted to Instagram, Bizzarri revealed details of "The CEO Carbon Neutral Challenge", a call to action for CEOs to take full and immediate responsibility for the greenhouse-gas emissions generated by their supply chains.
Following Climate Week NYC 2019, Bizzarri issued an open letter addressing the current situation, and urging CEOs to collectively commit to creating a future where the nature is not put at risk.
Bizzarri stated, "As CEOs we must take responsibility for the total GHG emissions our business activities create. The bulk of these emissions reside in our supply chains and we don’t have time to wait for technology to catch up and to scale up over the next decades to fully mitigate them. We must act urgently to address our total emissions in every way possible right now, and not solely focus our climate objectives on the years to come”.
We couldn't agree more.
