How to make your dresses feel like whole new outfits without spending a fortune

With the cooler aka 'not mega hot' months peeking their heads from the corner, and finally hitting us full swing with the realisation that summer will eventually come to an end, comes the unevitable task of clearing our wardrobes.

Luckily for people living in Dubai, winter doesn't slam into our faces too harshly (15 degrees celsius max), but it is still chilly enough to make us bury our favourite summer dresses at the back of our wardrobes.

But summer slip ons are more versatile than you think, and there are a myriad of ways you could style it up to suit the fall/winter fashion.

Here are a few ways you could revamp your summer dresses without the need to purchase new pieces:

1. Add a skirt on top

This combination not only looks stunning, the paterns on your long summer dresses will also be toned down to make a more muted look. It's like a whole new outfit.

2. The blouse-dress combo

One of the first solutions you would probably do to dress up your short sleeve dresses, is to throw on a denim jacket on your shoulders. But this combination can get quite boring, especially when every other fashion-savvy person in the planet does the same thing. Instead, try layering with a fancy blouse instead. We suggest going with a block-coloured piece incase your dress happens to be dotted with summery designs.

3. The inverted blouse-dress combo

Another way you could go about with using a blouse is actually wearing it below your summer dress. Anything frilly or with fancy wrist designs will work, if you're going for a preppy look.

4. Wear a heavy duty coat

This one is difficult to go wrong with. Adding a long heavy duty coat will hide most of your summer dress, but will leave enough material to peek through for a layered effect. This is definitely something you can do last minute when you're running late or just feeling unbothered.
