Will Kim Jones' vision for Fendi womenswear involve more streetwear?

Breaking news: Kim Jones will join Fendi as Artistic Director for womenswear collections. Jones will head Fendi haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections for women, but will also continue his role as artistic director of Dior Men.

Famed for his streetwear collabs including LV x Supreme and Dior x Jordan, it will be Jones' womenswear debut, and certainly a new era for Fendi. Silvia Venturini Fendi, who stepped in after Lagerfeld, will return to her original role designing menswear and accessories, declared, “My warmest welcome to Kim, to whom I am bound by deep respect and friendship. I am looking forward to take the Fendi universe to the next level with him,” Venturini confirmed.

LVMH Chairman and Chief Executive, Bernard Arnault also welcomed Jones: “Kim Jones is a great talent and since joining, he has continuously proven his ability to adapt to the codes and heritage of the LVMH houses while revisiting them with great modernity and audacity. At Fendi, I am convinced that his vision and passion will highly contribute to the success of the women’s collections.”
