Mariah Carey always pulls out the stops when appearing on stage.

And for the launch event of ‘One Year to Go until Expo 2020’ at Burj Park Dubai, the best-selling female artist of all time, took to the stage in a glittering gold gown by Dubai-based design house, Amato Couture.

Embroidered with intricate patterns, and fully embedded with Swarovski crystals, the gown is typical of the brand’s aesthetic.

In keeping with couture traditions, Amato textures its own fabrics, fashioning lavish materials with rare embellishment techniques, and Mariah long been a fan.

She first wore the Dubai-based designer at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, and again at her first Caution World Tour opening concert in Dublin, Ireland.

Hollywood A-listers and award-winning artists such as Beyonce, Katy Perry, Shakira, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Heidi Klum, Camilla Cabello, and Ariana Grande to name but a few have also stepped out in the UAE brand.

The brainchild of creative designer Furne One, who partnered with textile expert Rashid Ali, it launched in 2002 and ever since has been a big presence in the region’s burgeoning couture scene, and in November will close the fashion show stage of Dubai Fashion Forward.
