For the debut of the Spring 2019 collection, Ralph Lauren transformed its Madison Avenue flagship store into 'Ralph’s Café' for a more intimate and personal experience, and to bring the collection’s modern glamour to life.
Mega models Bella Hadid, Joan Smalls and Ming Xi glided down the grand staircase and elegantly sauntered past famous faces enjoying their morning coffee, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Karlie Kloss. Shame we already had breakfast and couldn’t make it.
The collection emphasised the purity of design through unexpected silhouettes and the reimagination of iconic shapes – think exaggerated wide-leg trousers paired with fluid silk shapes and dramatic necklines coupled with wide statement belts.
Metallic knits and shimmering sequins highlighted the sleek elegance of the season and the bold contrast of black, white and gold. We do love some sparkle. The show also saw the introduction of the RL50 handbag, which encapsulates Ralph Lauren's heritage by merging metropolitan spirit with equestrian-inspired details.
Ralph’s Café, an extension of Ralph’s coffee shop, is open for reservations and will serve breakfast as guests enjoy the presentation of the new season – just be sure not to spill your coffee on anyone’s dress.
Can’t make it? Don’t worry, the Spring 2019 Collection is available on Ralphlauren.com and will be available in the UAE soon. Until then, the experience is available to customers worldwide via livestream on Ralph Lauren’s social-media platforms, and the official website. How very 2019.
