Serena Williams - 23-time Grand Slam champion and fashion icon - slays both on and off the court thanks to her eponymous line and bold fashion choices – and she’s looking for designers to partner with for her next collection. In collaboration with Nike, Serena is developing a line of footwear, clothing and equipment, and is giving young designers the chance to be part of the Serena Williams Design Crew.

Nike and Serena are hand-selecting a group of 40 designers, each of which will be presented with a project to complete by November. Nike will then select ten designers to develop the line with come January.

The Serena Design Crew programme aims to increase diversity within the fashion and design industry and celebrate emerging young talent, so will be focusing on applicants from local creative organisations like Harlem’s Fashion Row and local community colleges to ensure a large variety.

Winners will learn from the best of the best while they apprentice at Nike’s USA headquarters for seven months, where they’ll design the collection alongside Serena herself. Unfortunately you won’t be able to shop the collection until spring 2021, but we’re excited to see what creative young designers have got in store.
