British designer and long-time sustainability warrior, Stella McCartney, is making her mark once again on Adidas’ classic Stan Smith sneaker.
The Stella #StanSmith2.0 follows the success of the first sell-out collaboration in September 2018, and just as before, will be leather and cruelty free.
Taking to Instagram, the It-Brit designer unveiled the new sneakers, pointing out that, “they're colourful, they're iconic and they are 100% vegan”.
While last year’s edition featured a reworked version of Stella’s iconic star pattern and burgundy and blue stripes down the heel, this time around, the collab takes inspiration from the rainbow hues found in the designer’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
The laser-cut stars in the classic adidas three-stripe formation reveal multicoloured hues, and a set of interchangeable rainbow-coloured laces add a playful edge to the collaboration.
Revamped in a light colourway appropriate for SS20, the sneakers are printed with Stan Smith’s portrait on the tongue of the right shoe and McCartney’s signed portrait on the left.
Coming in at Dhs1,107, this vegan Stan Smith makes for a particularly special holiday gift.
- Launching December 2, the Stella McCartney x Stan Smith sneakers will be available online, at in-store locations and at select retailers worldwide
