During last week's Paris Men's Fashion Week, the Grand Palais was the location of a moving memorial for the iconic Karl Lagerfeld, titled 'Karl For Ever'. There were 2,500 guests in attendance, including Cara Delevingne, Tilda Swinton and Dame Helen Mirren - all of which took to the stage to pay tribute to their late friend.
As well as videos showcasing Karl's many achievements and career highlights, there was a runway presentation of designs from his work at Fendi (where he was creative director), his namesake label and Chanel. Guests were also treated to musical performances by Chanel Ambassador Pharrell Williams, violinist Charlie Siem and Chinese pianist Lang Lang - who played a moving piece on a piano that Karl designed himself.
In addition, guests were surrounded by 56 giant portraits of Karl that were taken throughout his life by world-famous photographers, as well as video messages from his friends, family and fellow designers, in a sensational exhibition designed by Robert Carsen.
