Attention, everyone: there's a brand-new fashion week on our radar. It's the first ever Vegan Fashion Week and it is confirmed for February.
Taking place in LA, the city which was the first globally to ban the sale of fur clothing and accessories, the shows will roll out over four days at the California Market Centre. They will showcase a range of pieces made without the use of animal products and will also be home to a pop-up shop where visitors can purchase vegan fashion items, as well as panels to help educate and inform consumers and industry professionals on the relationship between fashion and animal rights.
Emmannuelle Rienda, founder of VFW, says, "I want to ignite conversations and debates within the industry by educating, elevating, and drawing connections between our most important values: our respect for human life, animal rights and the environment."
The event is the next positive step in the industry's increasingly conscious approach to creating fashion, following London Fashion Week's fur-free display for SS19.
This news is change fur the better - and we can't wait to see the shows.
Vegan Fashion Week takes place during 1-4 February 2019 in Los Angeles.
