Last year, we got our first taste of Demna Gvasalia’s altruism. Peppered throughout the sea of multicoloured layering at Balenciaga’s AW18 runway, was the brand’s first collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP).
Fluoro-yellow t-shirts, totes, hoodies and caps emblazoned with the WFP logo and slogan were sold among Balenciaga’s other pieces, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity in support of the WFP’s stated goal of ending world hunger by 2030.
As it turns out, there's good news for those of us who weren't quick enough to snag some goodies the first time around: Balenciaga x WFP 2.0 is officially here.
This year’s collab will continue the breadth of co-branded products that was available the first time around and is slated to include socks, hats, scarves, raincoats, T-shirts, hoodies, bags and more.
Switching things up a bit, this edition will use WFP’s logo on some pieces, while other pieces will feature WFP’s logo combined with Balenciaga’s.
The real difference, though, would be that Balenciaga has announced it will double the amount of proceeds given to World Food Programme to 20 percent.
You can do your bit - and get some new garms while you’re at it - when the pieces drop in stores and on a dedicated Balenciaga e-store next month.
