Being stocked on Net-a-Porter is a major coup for any emerging fashion brand. But there is one thing that easily surpasses it - being chosen to be a part of Net-a-Porter’s Vanguard mentorship program.
Among the handful of lucky designers selected is Iranian-British luxury handbag label S.Joon, which will be receiving comprehensive guidance on both the business and sartorial sides of things.
The brainchild of Sahar Asvandi, the name S.Joon is a combination of her first initial and the Persian term of endearment “joon”. Designed in sculptural silhouettes, the Italian-made pieces are inspired by her love of vintage handbags.
The rising star, now part of Net-a-Porter's mentorship program, will feature on the e-tailer’s most visible and valuable promotional spots, and receive marketing, buying and business mentorship from Net-A-Porter’s global team of specialists, to ensure its long-term development as a succesful and sustainable business.
“Since launching The Vanguard in September 2018 it's been an incredibly rewarding process to witness the 16 young talented brands we've brought into the program grow towards enduring success", says Elizabeth von der Goltz, the Global Buying Director at Net-a-Porter. "We are truly committed to providing long-term support and continuously develop and enrich the mentorship to ensure we are offering an ecosystem for emerging talent to thrive."
