Philophiles, rejoice! That Phoebe Philo-shaped hole in your soul may soon be filled – and not by Daniel Lee’s Bottega Veneta or by Peter Do, but by Phoebe herself.
Sources close to the British designer have revealed that she’s got her own line in the works – one that happens to be eco-friendly and focused on wardrobe essentials. Others have mentioned that she may even be set to step into a new role at Azzedine Alaïa.
In whatever way she chooses to do it, her return to fashion will surely be welcome. After all, she single-handedly catapulted Celine from the side lines and into the limelight. Philo’s Celine, the lore goes, was a brand that truly got women. She combined minimalism and clean lines with well-placed, whimsical elements.
While whisperings of her return have existed since her departure from Celine almost three years ago (in the past, Philo has been linked with positions at both Burberry and Chanel, but neither moves materialised), here’s hoping these ones ring true.
