Inspired by the TV shows of the '90s (think SATC and Friends) these twin sisters and their best friend decided to create a shoe line that they would wear. With a nod to sustainability and a focus on design without sacrificing quality, the trio have carved a shoe collection that is fresh, modern and in high demand.
Do you think your clothes are symbolic of Bulgarian or Eastern European design?
We design for the global modern girl. All around the globe this girl needs shoes that would work for her in sunny Sydney and in chilly Paris. It's the kind of design that would not overpower the person wearing it. In that sense, our design is not specific to a particular cultural scene but rather to the lifestyle of the cool modern girl.
What are the key elements of your design ethos?
Our designs are very inspired by the '90s and early 2000s. It’s all about the sleek baguette bags and clean barely-there sandals. One of our most adored bags is the Rachel baguette bag which is actually named after Rachel Green from Friends. In fact, you can often find the whole team binge watching Sex and the City and Friends for research and inspiration.
What is the vacation style of the By Far girl and where is she going on holiday?
The BY FAR girl is all about the La Dolce Vita this summer. We imagine her spending weeks exploring the Italian Riviera in secluded towns away from the touristy craziness.
Where will you both be spending your summer this year?
Very much like our BY FAR girls, this summer we want to indulge in the Italian culture. We are planning to get the whole family together and isolate ourselves in a house near the Lucca area.
What are your jet-set traveller wardrobe staples?
If we had to choose three items that would work in any part of the world, it would definitely be the Tanya sandals, the Sofia boots and the Rachel bag. They’re all light, cool and at the same time extremely comfy and functional. Wear them with simple jeans and a white T-shirt and you’re ready for any event.
