This Mango campaign proves that community is the new black

"Let's build the future, together," is the inspiring rally cry used for Mango's new SS19 campaign; a sentiment that it's impossible not to get behind, albeit one that it's easy to raise an eyebrow at when used for, well... flogging clothes, really.

We hear you. We want less gimmicks and more authenticity, too. But Mango's managed to collect a cluster of protagonists for its new campaign that genuinely represent strides in the industry towards a meaningful new dawn. One where authenticity is the new influence. Fabulous silver leather trousers just happen to be a part of it.

Starring our personal girl crush, Adwoa Aboah - Brit model of the moment known for her activism and launching Gurls Talk, an online female forum devoted to empowerment, self-care, and community - mega-model and artist Sasha Pivovarova, fellow artist Jolie Alien, model and motocross rider Luna Bijl and actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, the campaign is designed to, yes, show off the clothes, but moreover to highlight the creative and socially conscious talents of its faces. How very 2019.

Sure, fashion certainly ain't perfect, but it's campaigns like this that are the barometers of a sea change. If behemoth-like global players like Mango are pushing substance as on-par with style, then the future of the high street is very bright indeed - for everyone.
