What the shell? The seaside necklace is back and we're fully into it

News just in: the surfer look is back. No, seriously.

This means we're suffering from pangs of nostalgia for the tacky, white shell necklace we bought on a family holiday many moons ago. Seashell jewellery is making a comeback and is officially back on our wishlist - and, of course, the trend is starting to gather pace on Instagram (see #shellnecklaces for more)...

But don't limit yourself to diving in for a necklace - from earrings to anklets and super-cool belts, designers are finding creative and quirky ways to incorporate the tiny seaside souvenirs into their pieces.

Take Rebecca de Ravenel, for example. The designer is owning shells, and we love her belt, below...

This simple jewellery is capturing our hearts, and is a constant reminder that we're fortunate enough to live in a region where the sea is always within reach.

With that in mind, you could always make your own shell jewellery, but we fear by the time you finish the trend will be over and out. So here are our top picks to en-shore you are ahead of the game this weekend.
