Why the Quarantine Pillow Challenge is taking over our Instagram feeds

We've already Marie Kondo-ed our apartment, filmed “I'm bored in the house, I'm in the house bored,” TikTok videos and went on courageous kitchen endeavours of making sourdough. What’s left to do? Pillows. Pillows and fashion, to be exact. Introducing Instagram’s viral fashion trend: the #QuarantinePillowChallenge.

@stylebynelli

It all started with Swedish fashion influencers, @stylebynelli and @myforteisfashion posing in blue and purple pillows (respectively), cinched with a belt, accessorised with chunky trainers and scrunchies causally tied around the wrist.

Within a few days, the duo inspired thousands to post their fluffy pillow-turned dresses with the tags #QuarantinePillowChallenge and #PillowChallenge, making it viral.

Our favourite Middle Eastern influencers also took to sharing their twist on the latest quarantine chic. Lebanese sisters Alice and Nadine Abdel Aziz posed together, pairing their trendy pillow looks with a Lady Dior and Jacquemus bag and Dubai's darling, Karen Wazen invited her daughters Karlie and Kay to join in the fun, sporting By Karen Wazen shades and nothing other than, heeled mules by Andrea Wazen, while stylist Kelly Lundberg teamed hers with an Off-White belt and Gianvito Rossi heels.

Oumayma Elboumeshouli however, wanted to get creative, doning a blanket, captioning a hilarious remark: "the immigrants version of #thepillowchallenge, #ifyouknowyouknow."

Will you be next? The rules? There are none at this point.
