Another day, another nail trend. If you’re not quite content grappling with complex techniques like water-marbling or lugging around manis with about 50kgs of gems on them, you may have better luck with the Insta-friendly, mesmerising new nail design currently sweeping social media.

Waterdrop nails, also known as wet nails, involve placing 3D embellishments which look like – you guessed it – delicate droplets of water onto the nails.

One of the first people to experiment with the aquatic design was Sojin Oh, who revealed she flirted with the idea of dewy nails while at beauty school, drawing inspiration from the sea and scuba-diving (natural things to think about when you're stuck in class, we think).

Now, a whole host of nail artists have taken to Instagram to broadcast their own iterations of the aqueous trend. Scroll on for some of our favourites.
